Updates from Viggy HQ ~ March '26
Festival dates, march madness, and all things jiggy!

welcome to VIGGY NEWS - a very jiggy newsletter 📩
Hi friends! 👋🏻
It’s March! Time to blast Roundball Rock if that’s your thing, or drink wayyyy too many McDonalds Shamrock Shakes. I find myself somewhere in the middle, not really a basketball fan but just a big fan of good theme songs. Here’s what’s been going on, and what is going on this month!
👩🏻🦱 Viggytopia Happenings!
Here’s what’s going on in Viggytopia on Patreon this month!
Monday, March 9th @ 6pm EST: Songs on the Fly! 🪰
Join us for another session of SOTF! Last month, we arranged Mr Brightside by The Killers in real time and together as a group on Zoom. What'll it be this month? Join us in this all levels fingerstyle arranging course talking all things ear training, melodic and rhythmic transcription, and chord melody style!
Saturday, March 14th @ 2pm EST: Alternate Tunings with Sammy Turton
Viggytopia is happy to welcome Sammy Turton (@4stringboy) as an honorary member and guest teacher for this month! Join us as Sammy demos some alternate tunings and how we can experiment with unique sounds. Huge thanks to my pal Sammy for stopping by. Sammy is based overseas, so we'll have an afternoon lesson for our special guest. Please join us and be ready to detune your strings to something new and wonky!
Monday, March 23rd @ 6pm EST: Skills Workshop (Members get to VOTE!)
Every month, Viggytopians get to vote on the skills workshop topic. Toolbox Tunes returns to the poll for this month, an all levels strummy workshop great for uke groups or anyone who wants some simple strummers to have in your back pocket. Our other options are decade themed strum sessions (80’s Ladies and 90’s Rock) where we'll learn a handful of songs from that decade! Join today to cast your vote. 🤓

👾 PERC up with PERC Coffee!
Ready to level up your coffee game? I’m a proud PERC Coffee ambassador and I am loving their new “Super Power Plum” roast. They also make exclusive merch for each roast, and I have become a hoarder of their travel mugs and accessories! I’ve been going through their line of beans and some of my favorite brews are the Colombia Spice Cake & Honey, PERC Up, and the Peru El Guayacan roasts. If you want to perc up for yourself, click the pic above to snag yourself a 15% discount. ☕
🍿Other Stuff!
I’m getting super excited for my uke fest travels! First up is Centrum Ukulele Week in Port Townsend (special shout out to Peter who loves this newsletter! Jake and I 🧡 you) so I use the month of March to do all of my festival prep: Travel arrangements, merch making (loading USB bracelets with uke goodies and making ukulele art prints!), and Patreon planning for when I’m not home. That way, when some of my events are back to back, I have everything I need ready to go. I’ve gotten better at packing for festivals as well, keeping my bag mostly pretty light.
I’ve been getting into linocut print making! It’s where you carve a design into a rubber stamp and then print it onto paper. I have some ukulele and jiggy designs that I’ll be bringing with me on the road this year, so make sure to support your local uke fest and check out what your teachers have to sell! I’ll most likely sell any extras on my website, so if you can’t catch me in person this year you’ll probably have a chance to snag one.
Vic’s Movie Corner! I watched 15 movies this month! Here’s some highlights:
Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie (2026) - This is one of the funniest, most “how did they get away with that?” inducing films I’ve ever seen. SO hilarious, an absolute must see in a theater if you can. (5/5 stars)
Highway to Hell (1991) - Also known as Hellcop, a super awesome campy roadtrip movie that mixes Evil Dead with The Wizard of Oz. Ben Stiller’s entire family also makes an appearance in this? I really loved it!!!! (4.5/5 stars)
Bad Moon (1996) - If you can’t tell, I really like cheesy 90s horror movies. There’s a surprising lack of good werewolf movies, and while I’m not saying this is werewolf Citizen Kane, it’s a very rewatchable, really fun watch where the main character is a DOG. Literally. The DOG is the main character. Watch it!! (4/5 stars)
Encounters of the Spooky Kind (1980) - Samurai vampire karate movie with, I think, the best ending to a movie I’ve seen in a while. I HOWLED laughing for like 15 minutes. You’ll never guess it. (3/5 stars)
Heart Eyes (2025) - We watched this on Valentine’s Day as it is a Valentine’s themed slasher movie! It was alright LOL (2/5 stars)
Psycho Killer (2026) - This absolutely suuuuucked. Frustratingly bad, so boring and stupid. AND they didn’t even play the song!!! (.5/5 stars).
