Getting jiggy on the road in 2026!

Hi friends! 👋🏻

I’m so soooo excited to be hitting the road again next spring! I'll be heading back to my pals in Port Townsend for Centrum Ukulele Week in May, and then making my way to the southwest for Las Cruces Uke Fest! There may be a few “mighty” stops in between, as well… hint hint… wink wink…

4/30 - 5/6: Centrum Ukulele Week 🏔️🎶 (WA)

Teaching my “fingerpicking fun!” workshop at last year’s Centrum Ukulele Week!

Washington friends, I missed you so much that I had to come right back a second year in a row! Workshops will be announced soon, and I can’t wait to strum with you all again at the beautiful Fort Worden State Park. Have you seen the lineup for this year?! It’s gonna be a hoot! Click the pic for info, or check out the website here. Registration opens November 5th!

5/29 - 5/31: Las Cruces UkeFest! 🌵 (NM)

Beyond stoked to head to the southwest for the very first time! So excited to make new uke friends and strum together. Come join us!! Registration is already open, and you’ll get some free raffle tickets if you register before the new year! Click the pic above to get tix!

🏝️ Viggytopia Round-Up!

With a new month comes all new things in Viggytopia on Patreon! Here’s what’s going down this month 👇🏻

👩🏻‍🦱 Skills Workshop: Strumming in Odd Times ~ Saturday, Oct 11th @ 1pm EST

How do you strum a waltz? How on Earth would you strum “Money” by Pink Floyd?? In this workshop, we’ll go over how to develop strum patterns for odd time signatures like 3/4, 5/4, 6/8, and 7/4. Join Viggytopia today to strum with us!

🪰 Songs on the Fly! ~ Saturday, Oct 18th @ 1pm EST

Our monthly chord melody arranging workshop for players of all levels! In September, our random song spinner wheel landed on The Joker by Steve Miller Band (requested by… me! Sometimes I throw songs on the wheel, too!) for us to transcribe and arrange in real time on Zoom together. What’ll it be this month? You’ll have to join and see!

Some other stuff! 🍿

  • I am making decent progress on Moby Dick! Some other books I’m reading in-between are Richard Matheson short story compilations (I Am Legend is one of my fav books) as well as Lizard Music by Daniel Pinkwater since a director I like is doing an adaptation of it as his next project.

  • I’ve been making homemade bagels! I saw a tiktok video and was like “oh, I have all those ingredients…” and they came out ahmaaaazing! Sooo good. I also made homemade eggplant parm for the first time and that also rocked.

  • Here are some movies I saw! This month I saw a lot of new releases, really putting my AMC A-List membership to work. Everyone liked this segment from last month’s newsletter so I will keep sharing my movie ratings:

One Battle After Another (2025) - One of the best movies I’ve ever seen. I saw it twice this past weekend (once in VistaVision, once in IMAX) and I am dying to go again. Paul Thomas Anderson is my favorite director and this movie is generational. GO SEE IT. (5/5 stars)

Dirty Work (1998) - We watched this just because Norm Macdonald was in it, and that alone was worth it. But it was also a ton of fun! (4/5 stars)

Caught Stealing (2025) - Really fun action / crime / thriller starring Austin Butler and one of the best cat actors I’ve ever seen. Up there with the cat from Pet Sematary and Garfield. (4/5 stars)

The Long Walk (2025) - Stephen King said “what if I wrote a story that was kind of like Speed but with walking instead? And then they made it a movie starring Philip Seymour Hoffman’s son and the guy from the new Alien movie?” I actually really liked it though I almost cried like three times (4/5 stars)

The Wrong Paris (2025) - Fun silly Netflix movie that rips on The Bachelor franchise. Kind of so bad that it looped around into me thinking “nah this actually rocks” (3/5 stars)

Godzilla vs Hedorah (1971) - My partner and I are watching all the Godzilla movies. I love when Godzilla is a guy in a suit (4/5 stars)

    Cats (2019) - bad (1/5 stars)

That’ll be all for this update! Thank you for your support and interest, it means the world to me. I hope you are well and have fun strumming wherever you are, and always stay jiggy!

xoxo Viggy
