Updates from Viggy HQ ~ September 2025 🍂
Here's what's going on in Viggytopia this month - PLUS, Uketoberfest! 🎃

welcome to VIGGY NEWS - a very jiggy newsletter 📩 (September 2025 Edition)
Hi friends! 👋🏻
It’s about to get crispy and cool outside, and I’m all for it! Time for September sweaters and cozy tidings. 🍂🍁 I just spent this past weekend in Philly for the first time, it was a blast. I had never been before and my partner and I had fun exploring museums, eating delicious food, and seeing famous sites like the Rocky Statue, Historic Philly, and, of course, Paddys Pub 🍀
Two New Yorkers infiltrated the streets of Philly and had a great time. Go Birds! (I don’t watch sports)

October 25th ~ UKETOBERFEST! 🎃
Things are going to get spooky! Join us for Uketoberfest next month if u dare 👻👻
I have one more uke event before the year’s end and it’s in the lovely state of Michigan! Come join us in Traverse City at the famous Interlochen College for Uketoberfest, a one-day uke fest hosted by my pal Ben Hassenger. I’ll be teaching three workshops and performing in a small faculty recital at the end of the day, and then we all get pizza at night!
I want to get jiggy with you! 🫵🏻
I have some lesson slots available for one-on-one Zoom lessons heading into the fall for players of all levels! Want to get jiggy and learn something new, or learn ways to refine pieces you already know? Let’s jump on Zoom and jam together. 30min and 60min slots available for weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly lesson drop-ins. [Click here to inquire!]
Got a ukulele festival/org, uke group, or event you’d like me to teach or perform at? Shoot me an email! I had so much fun jamming and playing with the Salt Lake Strummers in Utah earlier this year and I would love to get together with other uke groups for events in the future. Some other stuff!!! 🍿
I recently attended an all night horror movie marathon at a local movie theater and it was a lot of fun! It ran from 9pm to 6am and they played five horror movies, including Texas Chainsaw Massacre on 35mm film. I will admit, I get why lots of people like that movie and the messaging behind it, but oh man was that not for me at all lol. No thanks!!!
I’m currently reading Moby Dick! Just because! Why not! I’m about 100 pages in and I really like it.
Here are some movies I saw this month that I did like:
Weapons (2025) - my favorite movie of the year, bar none (5/5 stars)
Detention (2011) - really fun and silly, I loved it! (4.5/5 stars)
Shin Godzilla 4K Remaster (2016) - My partner loves Godzilla movies and I think this is one of the best ones???? This rocked (4/5 stars)
Galaxy Quest (1999) - I started watching this on a plane a few months ago and it took me a while to find it on streaming to finish it, but I found it so charming and funny!! Very fun watch (4/5 stars)
The Running Man (1987) - One of my fav directors is remaking this film this fall, so I watched the original as a light pregame. Super 80s schlock with Arnold saying all kinds of goofy one liners. Absolutely rips (3.5/5 stars)
Jason X (2001) - This was part of the horror movie marathon and this came on at about 11:30pm, whole crowd just tearing it apart and laughing really added to it (2/5 stars)
War of the Worlds (2025) - BAD (.5/5 stars)
That’ll be all for this update! Thank you for your support and interest, it means the world to me. I hope you are well and have fun strumming wherever you are, and always stay jiggy!
xoxo Viggy
